พร่ำเพ้อในคืนวันเพ็ญเดือน ๖

"สัญญาต้องเป็นสัญญา" "ลูกผู้ชายพูดแล้วไม่คืนคำ" เป็นคำปลอบใจของคนดีๆ
ทั้งที่การพูดให้ดูดี ทำเป็นใจกว้าง การโกหก การตอแหล เป็นธรรมชาติของมนุษย์
เป็นเราก็เถอะ ก็คงลืมคำเหมือนกัน ฉะนั้น ใครจะลืมบ้างก็ควรปล่อยเขาได้ระบายตามกาล-ตามกรอบอันควร
อีกทั้ง ความขัดแย้ง ความเข้าใจผิด ก็ยังเป็นสิ่งจำเป็น เป็นสิ่งต้องมีในสังคมโลกมนุษย์ เพราะสิ่งนั้นคือพลังงานนำไปสู่การค้นหา นำไปสู่ปฏิบัติการใหม่ๆ อย่างที่เรียกว่า "นวัตกรรม"
ยังไม่มีอะไรที่ "ใช่" ไม่มีอะไรที่ "จริงแท้" เพียงแต่ "ยึดถือ" ว่าใช่กันไปตามกฎเกณฑ์กติกาหนึ่งๆ เท่านั้น วันนี้-ใช่ พรุ่งนี้-อาจไม่ใช่ กลายเป็นอีกอย่างตามกฎเกณฑ์และเงื่อนไขใหม่ก็ได้
เพราะที่พูดกันว่ามนุษย์ "มีปัญญา" นั้น จริงๆ แล้วความชาญฉลาดของมนุษย์ทุกวันนี้ เป็นแค่ "สัญญา" ไม่ใช่ "ปัญญา"
สัญญา คือความรู้ ความเข้าใจ ความทึกทัก ในสิ่งจำนั้น ฉะนั้น สิ่งที่จำจนถึงขั้นได้ปริญญากันนั้น เป็นแค่การ "เรียนจำ" กันมาเป็นทอดๆ จำเท่าอาจารย์ โง่-ฉลาดเท่าอาจารย์
ก็เอากระดาษไปแผ่นหนึ่งที่เรียกว่า..ใบปริญญา!
ความรู้จำนั้น สิ่งที่จำ "ไม่จริง" ยังเปลี่ยนแปลงได้ตลอด เช่นกฎเกณฑ์ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ หรือวิทยาการทางแพทย์ ซึ่งมีการค้นพบใหม่ไปเปลี่ยนแปลงกฎเกณฑ์เก่าอยู่ตลอด เป็นความรู้ที่ยัง "ไม่นิ่ง" ยังเอาชีวิตไม่รอด อันเป็นแกนหลักของสังคมตะวันตก เขาจึงต้องค้นหากันตลอดเวลา
ฉะนั้น พวกนกแก้วนกขุนทองนั้นก็ทำให้อยู่รอดตัวได้ไปแค่ชั่วระยะเวลาสั้นๆเท่านั้น
"ปัญญา" สิ คือความรู้จริง-แจ้ง และสิ่งนั้นอีกกี่ร้อย-กี่ล้านปี ใครก็ไม่สามารถเปลี่ยนแปลงได้
อย่างเช่น รู้ว่าทุกอย่างไม่คงที่ รู้ว่าทุกอย่างเปลี่ยนแปลง เราก็พัฒนาตัวตนให้ทันกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงนั้นๆ ถ้าใครมองเห็นอีกว่าการพัฒนาทำตนให้ตามติดไปกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงอันสากลนั้นมันเจ็บปวดทรมานและเป็นไปไม่ได้ เพราะมันก็ไม่ใช่อะไรที่บอกได้ว่าให้ตามติดไปได้ ใครไปยึดว่าคงที่ก็เป็นทุกข์ เพราะทุกสิ่งนั้นเป็นแค่ "สิ่งยึด" สิ่งที่ยึดก็เป็นแค่อาการของจิตเข้าไป "นึกยึด" เอาเอง อาจจะหลงว่าที่ "ตา" เห็นนั่นไงคือตัวตน มันก็เป็นตัวตนแค่หลงเอาชั่วกาลเวลาระยะหนึ่ง อันเป็นอดีตไปแล้ว ณ วินาที ที่ยึด แล้วในที่สุดไอ้ที่หลงยึดมันก็สูญสลาย ไม่มีตัวตนอะไรเหลือให้ยึดได้ดังใจอยากตลอดไปเลย!
ยึด-ทุกข์, ไม่ยึด-ไม่ทุกข์ ในโลกนี้ไม่มีตัว "สุข" ดอก สหาย
หาให้ตายก็ไม่พบ แต่ขณะใดที่ใจ "ไม่ทุกข์"
ขณะนั้น สุข จาก สงบ ปรากฏทันที!
ผู้ใดเข้าถึง "สัมโพธิ" ผู้นั้นมีปัญญา
สัม มากจาก"สํ" อุปสัค แปลว่า พร้อม
โพธิ คือ รู้
สัมโพธิ คือ รู้พร้อม รู้ทัน รู้รอบ รู้รอด รู้พ้น พ้น-วนออกจากทุกข์ รู้อย่างนี้ รู้ด้วยปัญญา รู้ว่าสิ่งหนึ่งเกิดขึ้น เพราะมีอีกสิ่งหนึ่ง ถ้าไม่มีสิ่งนี้ สิ่งนั้นก็จะไม่มี เพราะมีสิ่งนี้ตะหาก สิ่งนั้นถึงมี
โลกนี้คือ "วงกลม" แห่งการเชื่อมโยงแห่งเหตุ และการนำไปสู่ผล ผลที่สร้างเหตุต่อเนื่องกันไป "ไม่สิ้นสุด"
การ "รู้พ้น" ไม่ได้หมายถึงเป็น "คนหนีโลก"
แต่หมายถึงเป็น "คนเหนือโลก" เพราะเข้าใจ-เข้าถึงในเหตุการณ์ ในปัญหาที่เชื่อมโยงกัน ในความเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และเปลี่ยนแปลงไป
เข้าใจ-เข้าถึง ก็จะเห็นมัน อยู่กับมัน รับรู้มัน เล่นกับมัน ด้วยใจเบิกบาน ที่มันย้อมไม่ติด
เหมือนการออกกำลังกาย ไม่ใช่การเสียกำลัง-เสียแรง แต่เป็นการเพิ่มพลังใจที่สดใส ได้พลังกายที่สดชื่น!

The total perdition of the education system in Thailand

The modern education system in Thailand was introduced more than 50 years ago. It is long enough to claim that the education system in Thailand has been totally failure. The recent crisis in particular shows that we are completely unable to deal with the problem created by both the bureaucrats and the citizens. In fact, this crisis has its root in the rotten education system. What has happened?


First of all, the problem lies with the distribution of education, as only the rich, strictly speaking the people in Bangkok and the big cities, can get a good education, go to a better school. But the people in the other provinces lack good schools, and effective educational tools. Moreover, the people who live in the country, where there is no electricity and water supply, even lack schools. They have to walk for 10 kilometer across mountains to go to bad schools where they can only learn how to read and write Thai.


Second, even though the rich in the big cities can go to school and have better facilities, the quality of the education is still bad. A recent survey about the IQs of teenagers showed that the average IQ is only 87, worse than the average of the normal IQ, which is 90. Furthermore, these teenagers prefer to go shopping and seeing movies or playing games to studying. You can see Thai teenagers staying at the shopping centers all day and, of course, at night in discotheques.


In addition, the teaching methods are old-fashioned because the teachers teach students to memorize knowledge only for the examination. Accordingly, students lack self esteem and self-motivation and cannot think and work independently by themselves. Thus, they are very emotional and study because they are frightened on base of fear, not because they want knowledge. As a result, clever politicians who can manipulate public opinion will rule them. Besides, Thailand cannot invent anything high-tech. They have to import it from developed countries. This leads to economic dependence; i.e., and a situation similar to colonization.


However, there is hope from the fringe of the society. It is the alternative education, which is based on the wisdom root of the society, Buddhism. Thais can learn from temples or from some alternative school; for instance, in Chiang Rai with the Jitwiwat group (the new consciousness group, see more at jitwiwat.org). If this alternative education blooms in Thailand, Thailand will change for the better because it teaches children to grow up independently with social responsibilities. It would be a promising future of Thai education.

Political crisis in Thailand

After the military junta, the council for national security (CNS), overthrew the government of Thaksin Shinnawatr in September 2006. Its aim was to solve the national adversities, or so it claimed, yet still nothing has been solved. The four accusations against Thaksin have not been attested in the legal process and the economic situation is deteriorating.

While it is clear that Thaksin was corrupt and lead the nation in the wrong direction namely that of extreme liberalism and capitalism with corruption, gathering evidence is difficult. In addition, he still has the advantages of money. Through money laundries he bought a mansion in London after the coup d’etat and now he is going to take over “Manchester City FC”.

What is peculiar is that the military junta lets him get away with it. Sonthi Boonyaratglin, the head of the coup, behaves in a gentlemanly way, which no other junta in the world has done. Additionally, five years of the Thaksin regime have taken firm root in the state bureaucracy. Thus, the regulatory system does not function such as the court or election commission of Thailand.

In my opinion, the military junta and the appointed government must be much more assertive with Thaksin and his remained power. They must deter Thaksin’s transactions as soon as possible and should sequestrate his assets in Thailand at least transiently.

Other countries may consider this to be totally non-democratic, but if the situation continues, blood will be shed in Thailand soon. I predict this may happen this month (May 2007) because the first judgement will be declared towards the end of this month. Of course, Thaksin will use all of his money to influence the judgement. Indeed, this gentlemanly dictatorship is still a dictatorship, not democracy as the junta would prefer to see it.
